Core competency (அடிப்படை( மைய ) தேர்ச்சி)

Management guru Prof. Prahlad advocated the advantage in focussing on core competency of any company to expand the scope utilizing the experience gained over the years in a particular field and improve it  rather than engaging in unknown fields. Today Larson & Toubro the great construction and Infrastructure development giant had expanded in the fields keeping their core competency like heavy engineering, construction, power generation & construction equipment manufacturing, manufacture of Industrial valves, provide Integrated Engineering services, L&T Infrastructure finance, PMC etc. There are many cases, where in companies diversifying in different fields fail miserably for want of experience in those fields. Reliance Industries Ltd  is classic example of backward integration. Expanding from selling synthetic fibers, areas like manufacture , petroleum  products, setting up of  Refineries of crude and now engaging in  exploration of crude oil.   
This couplet is a follow up of earlier couplets where in the sage has advised to involve experts in the task. Here, he stresses the advantage of developing core competency that would help in improvement of efficiancy. Here, the poet brings out the concept of scheduling activities utilising   “Floats” and prioratising “ Critical Path Activities” in a PERT network that helps in optimum resource allocation without affecting the completion date of the project.     

These highly refined advices indicate the highly developed business acumen   of the great sage.

செய்த செயலின் அடிப்படையில்புதிய செயலைச் செய்வது,பழக்கப்பட்ட யானையைக் கொண்டு மற்றொரு யானையைப் பிடிப்பது போல் ஆகும்
